EDMONTON — Evan Bouchard scored on a power play at 3:32 of overtime to give the Edmonton Oilers a 4-3 victory over the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday night.

With the Wild serving a too-many-men penalty, Bouchard scored his seventh of the season with a wrist shot with 1:28 remaining in the extra frame on his 27th birthday.

"It feels good just to get the win against a good hockey team," Bouchard said.

Connor McDavid set up Bouchard's goal for his third assist of the game, pushing his NHL-leading points total to 26 and extending his season-opening points streak to nine games.

The Oilers' captain became just the sixth player in NHL history with 25 points before their 10th game in a season, joining Mario Lemieux (three times, most 33), Mike Bossy (28), Wayne Gretzky (twice; most 27), Brent Sutter (25) and Marcel Dionne (25).

With 26 points, McDavid was already more than a quarter of the way to his 10th career 100-point season.

Leon Draisaitl scored twice, Mathieu Joseph also connected and Devon Levi made 27 saves for the Oilers (7-1-1), who have won two in a row and seven of their last eight.

Joel Eriksson Ek, Kirill Kaprizov and Ryan Hartman scored for Minnesota (6-2-2), and Jesper Wallstedt stopped 28 shots.

Kaprizov and Hartman scored in the third period as Minnesota overcame a 3-1 deficit to force overtime.

Kaprizov picked up an assist and his league-leading 11th goal to hit 17 points on the season, the second-most through 10 games in Wild franchise history behind his own 21 in 2024-25.

The Oilers went three-for-five on the power play and were a perfect three-for-three on the penalty kill, including a successful 3-on-5 stand.

Both teams rely heavily on their top lines, with the Oilers coming into the game with 19 goals from their top trio, while the rest of the team scored 18.

The Wild’s top line had combined for 16 goals against 12 for the rest of the team.

Up next: The Oilers continue their homestand against the Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday, while the Wild play the second game of a five-game road trip in Calgary against the Flames.
