The Vancouver Goldeneyes unveiled new jerseys for their second Professional Women's Hockey League season on Wednesday.

"They added so many cool touches to make it special to Vancouver and to our team," captain Ashton Bell said. "I'm obsessed with them and can't wait to rep them."

The jersey features the team's logo, a golden eye encircled by wings, stitched in the centre.

The team said in a release that V-shaped blocking on the lower sides is meant to convey motion and speed, and allude to the "V" in the team's "flying V" post-game celebration.

It has bronze lines on each sleeve reminiscent of wings.

Miniature outlines of the logo sit inside the numbers on the back.

The Goldeneyes will wear blue with cream accents for home games and cream with blue accents for away games.

Both sweaters feature colour blocking in a "V" shape in nod to the team's postgame "flying V" celebration and Vancouver.

Five bronze stripes on the sleeves of the sweaters represent a common goldeneyes' wings and a nod to the team's logo.

What do the players think of the new design?

The new design represents both the city and the team, said forward Jenn Gardiner, who hails from nearby Surrey, B.C.

"All the colours are the same but it's kind of exciting because we didn't know what direction they were going to take it and how they were going to put the logo on and bring it to life on these jerseys," she said. "But I think they did an amazing job."

Bell knows there will be many fans in the stands sporting the refreshed uniform.

"Just to see this building erupt even more in the Goldeneyes colours will be so special to see," she said.

Goldeneyes players Sarah Nurse, Jenn Gardiner and Caroline Harvey modeled the new uniforms in a post by the team on social media.

How does this design differ from last season's jerseys?

Last season, the Goldeneyes sported the PWHL's inaugural season jerseys which featured "Vancouver" stitched across the crest.

The new design is the first to feature the eagle eye that became the team's identity ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.

The jersey will feature the blue and burnt orange trim that was featured on the Goldeneyes' inaugural sweaters.

When will the new jerseys debut on the ice?

Caroline Harvey and her teammates will wear their new jerseys in game action for the first time on Dec. 5 when Vancouver hosts the Seattle Torrent in its season opener.

The jersey will have its on ice debut on Dec. 5 at Pacific Coliseum.

The Goldeneyes logo is already featured throughout their home rink, Pacific Coliseum.

It's painted at centre ice and plastered on pillars throughout the historic venue.

"That's something you don't see in women's sports often, especially in women's hockey. We're the only team with our own rink in the PWHL," Gardiner said. "And that's so special. We don't take it for granted to have this building, to have this city cheering for us. It's very unique and I'm so grateful to play for our home team."

What is the context for the team's second season?

Vancouver finished its first year with a 9-3-4-14 record and missed the playoffs.

A strong finish to the campaign earned the Goldeneyes the right to select first overall in June's PWHL entry draft, where they selected standout American defender Caroline (KK) Harvey.

The team had high expectations heading into Year 1, but whether it was a lack of camaraderie or fatigue from the amount of travel, Vancouver struggled to keep up with the top teams in the PWHL, especially away from home.

As a result, Vancouver failed to qualify for the Walter Cup Playoffs, finishing sixth and going just 3-1-1-10 on the road.

The team fired head coach Brian Idalski after the season, with general manager Cara Gardner Morey taking over as bench boss.

Former American Hockey League vice president of hockey operations and governance Alison Izzi was hired as the organization's new GM last month.

With a restructured roster and an enhanced identity, the Goldeneyes are hoping to challenge for a playoff spot in the new Western Conference.

The Goldeneyes drop the puck on the 2026-27 campaign at home on Dec. 5, taking on the Seattle Torrent.
