PROLINE+ Sportsbook Review

PROLINE+ at a Glance

PROLINE+ is the digital sportsbook of the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation. It was launched in August 2021, coinciding with the federal legalization of single-event betting. The platform is an evolution of the long-standing retail PROLINE product available at lottery kiosks. PROLINE+ offers pre-match and in-play betting across major sports. It is developed with technology partners including FDJ Gaming Solutions and Sporting Solutions. The sportsbook is integrated with the OLG's PlaySmart responsible gambling program. All profits from its operations are directed back to provincial government priorities.

Licence, Ownership, and Where It Is Legal in Canada

PROLINE+ is owned and operated by the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, a Crown agency of the Government of Ontario. It operates under the oversight of the Government of Ontario. This makes it a fully legal online sportsbook within the province of Ontario. It is not available in any other Canadian province. At the time of its launch in 2021, it was the only legal online sportsbook in Ontario. Other provinces operate their own lottery-run sites, such as PlayNow in British Columbia and Manitoba, and Mise-o-jeu+ in Quebec.

Regulatory Record

The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) is the regulator for internet gaming in the province. The AGCO registers and regulates online gambling sites and sets standards to protect players and ensure game integrity. The AGCO has issued monetary penalties to other operators for violating its standards. The AGCO's modern igaming compliance program oversees all aspects of regulatory delivery. The AGCO is a Crown regulatory agency responsible for gaming regulation in Ontario.

Sports and Markets

PROLINE+ covers a wide range of major North American and international sports. The available sports include football, basketball, baseball, soccer, hockey, tennis, golf, Formula 1, MMA, and boxing. Betting markets for these sports are comprehensive. The platform offers standard bet types including moneylines, point spreads, totals (over/under), and prop bets. Parlays and system bets like Trixies are also supported. The odds are dynamic and update based on game status and betting action. According to its terms, markets are determined solely by the Corporation, and all wagers are subject to its Game Conditions.

NHL and CFL Betting

PROLINE+ is an official sports betting partner of the National Hockey League. This partnership provides the sportsbook with distribution rights to NHL logos and promotional opportunities. For NHL games, bettors can find pucklines, spreads, moneylines, totals, player props, and live betting options. The availability of specific props and specials may vary by game and season. As with all sports on the platform, odds are set by the operator and are subject to change.

Live Betting, Streaming, and Cash Out

PROLINE+ features a dedicated in-play betting section for live events. A live match tracker is available for many events, providing a virtual representation of the game action. The cash out feature is available on selected bets, allowing players to settle a wager before all markets are resulted. The cash out value is calculated based on the current odds at the time of the request. This amount can be higher or lower than the original wager. The feature is identified by a specific symbol on eligible bets within the bet slip.

Same Game Parlays and Odds Features

PROLINE+ offers same-game parlays, defined as a parlay where each selection relates to the same event. These are available for selected events through pre-established combinations. The platform also supports system bets, which are pre-set wager types containing a series of bets. Odds are presented in decimal format. The operator uses a dead-heat rule for tied outcomes, which reduces the payout by dividing the odds by the number of participants sharing the winning position. All odds and market offerings are determined at the sole discretion of the OLG according to its published Game Conditions.

Deposits and Withdrawals

PROLINE+ offers a limited set of payment methods compared to some private operators. The available options are listed in the following table. Withdrawals are processed only to a verified personal bank account in the player's name. The operator states it aims to process withdrawal requests within one business day. After processing, the total time for funds to reach the player's account is typically one to five business days, depending on bank processing. Player identity verification is required for all withdrawals to comply with federal FINTRAC regulations. This verification process can take up to five business days.

Our Verdict

PROLINE+ is a legitimate, government-operated sportsbook that provides a regulated betting environment for Ontarians. Its key differentiator is that all profits are reinvested into the province. The platform offers standard betting markets, official league partnerships, and essential features like live betting and cash out. Its payment methods are more limited than some competitors, and it is only available within Ontario. For bettors who prioritize a provincially run operator with strong responsible gambling frameworks, PROLINE+ is a viable option. It represents a safe, legal choice in Ontario's competitive igaming market.
